Some Kind of Strange is a female fronted original alternative rock band from Boaz, West Virginia. SKOS consists of five long-time friends that have a common drive to create music that can help bring people together. 2017 has been an exciting time for SKOS and they are looking forward to a fun filled 2018. SKOS has performed in several venues/events in the Parkersburg/Marietta area including the Adelphia Music Hall, The Gough Hazard, Mother Earth Foods’ Earth Stock, The Par, Parkersburg Art Center, The Sly Fox and The Coffee Bar. SKOS has also donated their time to help raise community awareness of addiction problems.
Some Kind of Strange writes and plays original music that is multi-dimensional and also message driven. The emotion of life lies deep within the Strange and helps find both wisdom and words for the evolving sound of this dynamic group. The spirit of the group has many influences and draws heavily from the music of the 1970’s for inspiration, as well as from many current and historical events. Some Kind of Strange seeks out the energies and sounds of profound revelation to bring a unique and compelling experience to listeners, an experience that SKOS hopes will help challenge, inspire, and encourage others to further heights of enlightenment. Their debut album “Higher Self” is now available, and they are actively searching for opportunities to perform.
